I agree, anyone keeping exotic animals as pets is an asshat. Especially nocturnal ones that most people will bother all day, and ones like sugar gliders who NEED a community, but most people will keep them solitary.

I pretty much hate all of humanity for the ugly shite we do to so many animals.

As an Australian, it's always weird for me to see people keeping sugar gliders as pets. It's illegal to keep pretty much any native animal as a pet here, so to see Americans with them flying around their houses was a shock!

It's pretty weird to see how many animals get kept as pets that have no business being pets, especially in Japan. More or less all those "cute" videos of fennecs and owls being stuck in some small 1DK (at max) apartment are pretty shitty.
