IDK I'm not sure how true this actually is, at least when you're talking about the time period during which young people actually watched primetime broadcast TV, before they stopped watching primetime broadcast TV and started watching streaming and time-delayed content exclusively.

Like, what are the examples here besides the 2 Judd Apatow shows? Arrested Development, Better Off Ted and Community all did multiple seasons. Community almost did enough to make it to syndication (97 episodes before they moved out of broadcast and into digital). And those last 2 were well within the streaming era.
