Does anyone else love watching drama in groups you are not part of but know about?

So you actually understand the drama but don't care. Inspired by The Try Guys fiasco going on.

Ned Fulmer (the wife guy) cheated on his wife with one of his subordinates, Alex of Food Babies. It all just came out today. Here is a summary. Apparently, they've edited him out of shows and have been doing it for a couple weeks.

Try Guys released a statement that Ned will no longer be with the company.

OMG. I haven't kept up with my youtube watching in a few weeks. Think this is one lot of drama I'll avoid reading too much about, though. I can imagine the freak outs going on in their fandom, even though it's not really anyone else's business.

Damn I feel bad for Ariel (Ned's wife). And I'll bet Alex is getting a ton of hate. :(

Fuck Alex. She knew what she was doing, and she was engaged to her high school sweetheart of ten years herself. Both of them are fucking garbage.

Apparently the affair had been going on for a whole YEAR. Alex's fiance Will was the one who originally found out about it back in December of last year and told Ned off. Then he gave Alex another chance. And then, womp womp, both Will and Ariel find out earlier this month that Alex and Ned were STILL seeing each other. So, yeah, they are both gigantic dumpster fires.

Jesus. I did notice he'd dropped off from their videos and even jokingly thought maybe they were having marital issues, but with Alex?? Why do people shit where they eat it's literally insane.

Any and all band drama is fascinating regardless if I listen to said band in question's music or not. Doubly so if it's 90's grunge. 90's grunge has uniquely tasty drama.

I love me some drama, especially YA lit drama. YA's my favorite genre, but I rarely engage with the fandom, so I find the drama fascinating.

Yes, yes absolutely. That's the perfect distance. I know enough to understand the lingo and the steaks but I don't actually care about the consequences. I have such an interest in influencer drama and financial scams right now. I know how much money is worth, I know that Instagram exists, I hate people selling dangerous diet goods, I love the drama.

I go to r/hobbydrama less now than a few months ago, but yeah. Depends on how messy and close to the source material I am. For example the drama you mentioned? It's a little too messy and close (but not close enough) because it deals with personal issues/I used to read buzzfeed remember the first gen creators on the site vs some petty fight over whether the furry costume should have had feathers or scales (not a fandom or people I am familiar with).

Honestly, that fiasco really sucks. I don't know that guy specifically (glad it didn't involve Eugene or Freddie from LadyLike) or the girl involved either, so it's no horses in this race.

Back when Curbed was in its previous incarnation, I would go to the pages for LA and San Francisco - cities I have never lived in but vaguely understand the geography - and look for articles with a lot of comments because everyone was always SO MAD.

It was hilarious.

The other cities weren't like that (but maybe no one was even reading those pages).

Yessssss, one friend and I were DMing each other as we ate popcorn and watched our Twitter TLs fill up with jokes and thoughts on the Try Guys drama.

I used to watch YT drama breakdowns. So many creators who I don't know anything about them or the community in which all that drama is happening

Occasionally, I'll look through Kpop drama since I'm mostly there to jam to the music and thirst after some of the idols. There's always something going on though so some controversies tend to be overblown.

I kinda find Kpop drama too depressing to be enjoyable.

AYRT
The truly scandalous scandals are indeed very sad and insidious. Another reason I don't keep up with Kpop drama too much. Dip my toes in here and there.
Most of what I see is usually stan wars. Saw some people dragging Chanyeol because announcement of his military discharge came up. Antis were quick to drag his name in the mud.

It's just all petty and vile bullying all around.
