I don't get the hate for Anakin's line about sand in Attack of the Clones, yes it is awkward and stiff, but it is a young guy, an inexperienced guy at that, using a pick up line on a girl he likes to try and sound deep. It is supposed to be a bit stiff and awkward. Every pick-up line is awkward.

Were they going for stiff and awkward though? Felt to me like they played that scene as an actual deep moment of connection for them.
