Can you elaborate here on what, exactly, you mean? What labels or ways of thinking about race *are* present in Britain?

We generally just label ourselves white/black/mixed/asian/arabic etc and leave it at that. It's pretty obvious by your accent if you weren't born here.

If people care enough, they'll openly ask 'Where are you from?' or 'Where is your accent from?' but it's generally considered impolite to do so.
