Usually I find that when a character is greatly hated, it's because the writers tried to force something instead of really thinking through their development as their own character.

That said, I didn't mind Randy either. The only thing that really bothered me was his "intro." Sure, having him accidentally wander into the circle was pretty funny, but at the same time, kind of felt a bit intrusive? I obviously can't speak for other fans, though. And for someone who stuck around for an entire season, he was basically forgotten within a couple of episodes, and I think he deserved better.

And agreed on Jackie/Fez, oddly, not because of the pairing itself (even though I ship the hell out of Jackie/Hyde), but because it came at the cost of all of Jackie's character development in seasons 5-7. Dirty move on the part of the (then new) writers.
