We often are our own worst critic.

More than once I'd tell a friend some shortcomings I had that I wanted to improve on, and they'd always respond with, "I think you're great at that thing!"

My inner critic always tells me, "Your friend is only saying that to be nice," though these days I allow myself to thank my friend for their encouragement.

It's so hard to reassure yourself, I agree. You're trying your best though, nonny, so I hope you can be a little kinder to yourself.
