I liked the Netflix Sandman seried but I have really NO idea why it got an 18+ rating in my country. It was - aside from some bloody/queasy scenes- pretty harmless to me. Not sure what that says about me.

IIRC, Germany’s pretty conservative with their rating system and will slap maturity ratings on things like “antisocial behavior.” So, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that regardless of the gore level, things like a elf harm and suicide would trip the higher rating.
