This is considered bad? Because I am with you, OP, I thought it knocked it out of the park. The bit with Winchester's dream in particular, him feeling helpless despite all his tricks, was just heartbreaking, and Hawkeye's dream was pure undiluted, triple distilled, nightmare fuel.

And Potter's, that got you right in the feels. I know I'd give anything to have a bowl of my own grandma's home cooking just once more.

I thoroughly agree with this comment and the OP.

Hmm.

Well, it is thoroughly unsettling. It's well done and thought-provoking, but that doesn't mean that it's easy to watch. The mannequin limbs really creeped me out, in the metaphor of the dream and out.

I liked this ep and so did the other MASH fans I know. I'm only sorry they did it after Radar left because I wanted to know what his dream would have been.

Wow. I think it's an awesome episode, and definitely the kind of stuff that would happen to people who were practically on the front lines, seeing horrors day after day after day.

People are weird.

I don't remember most of this episode (I basically only watched MASH back when I had cable and it'd happen to come on), but the moment at the end where Hawkeye hears the choppers in his dream was an absolutely phenomenal moment of TV, IMO. It's always stuck with me for how eloquent and heartbreaking it was.

It's pretty popular on Tumblr.

When I rewatched Mash as an adult this episode absolutely wrecked me and now I think it's one of the best ones. Very difficult to watch and maybe if you're going by your childhood memories, it seems too surreal or gross or misplaced among all the comedy, but it's fucking incredibly done and has a really devastating message behind it.
