Re: What remakes did you like better than the original?
(Anonymous) 2022-10-04 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)David Tennant made the whole movie for me.
And Colin Farrell was pretty good, too!

(Anonymous) 2022-10-05 08:40 am (UTC)(link)I mean, the original was freaking good, don't get me wrong, it's one of those movie I rewatch every faw years, but David Tennant just made me laugh A LOT. I was not expecting to laugh that much by watching that movie.
I expected the worst garbage from that and it turned out I was wrong.

(Anonymous) 2022-10-06 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)A blonde teen lives with his single Mom. He learns that vampires are real and can't save a classmate from being attacked. That classmate later returns as a vampire (Jesse from the Buffy pilot).
There's a moment in Buffy where Spike tells the gang that while vampires can't enter the house without being invited nothing can stop them from burning the house down if they want.
David Tennant's character is basically Spike (particularly at the end with the leather duster) but with Giles' knowledge from his collection of writings and weapons. He even refers to the teen characters as the Scooby Gang.
And then the credits roll and the screenwriter is revealed to be Marti Noxon and everything makes sense.
