Do it again anon. Start saving and in the meantime start looking for the teeshirt of your dreams.

This. (I mean, how expensive are t-shirts?)

30 bucks now! It's maddening! t-shirts are supposed to cost 15, maybe 20 if it's a really good one.

(at least, every shirt I've looked at, I have not browsed the selections at Target and Kohls where I guess you can get some nerd shirts?)

NAYRT You can sometimes get nerdy T-shirts at Hot Topic for fifteen bucks during their sales.

Oh yeah, I'll definitely save up!

I'm super cheap, which is why I never bothered spending money on any "fun" t-shirts and really just have always bought shirts I can wear to work/around. Definitely going to save some money for a new fun shirt.

That's an awfully strong way to feel about a t-shirt.

It is. Lol.

Following your metaphor, the first time doesn't have to be perfect or special. It can just simply be. Whatever comes after can improve (or be worse), so long as you are enjoying yourself on some level. <3

Very much this!

I doubt that many people's first times are that special or great, tbh.

For sure! Thanks for kind sentiments :)

On that note, I just really don't even like the show, so that's why it was disappointing -- it's not so much you wanted it to be special per se, more just you wanted A but you got B instead when you never wanted B. Lol.

It’s okay, OP. You can get yourself a nicer shirt next time. I had something similar happen with a Pullip doll. I always wanted one and I finally managed to save enough money to buy one, but when I got her, my feelings were very meh. I got her because she was a sample sale doll and therefore cheaper, but I just couldn’t bond with her. I ended up selling her and saved up again for a brand new doll that gave me that wow feeling when I got her.

This reminds me of when I bought the first two volumes of Berserk at a mall. It was completely by impulse and I don't really read Berserk. Sometimes you just gotta buy random shit for no reason.

Thank you secret maker!

I appreciate you making my secret!
