I'm German and unironically love the song so I know the lyrics too well to mishear them like that - is that how the lyrics sound to English speakers? That is absolutely amazing.

Yeah, I do not know German and had never heard the song before someone dropped the link to that video at me many years ago. XD

When I'm watching the NORMAL version, nah, the lyrics don't really sound like that, but if they're actually displaying while the song is playing I can't help but hear them as the bad translation. Power of suggestion - it sounds just close enough.
