I used to be somewhat addicted to Lush products, but it's been a decade since I've been able to afford them.

What does one do in the Lush fandom?

Do people ship products with each other??

(Anonymous) 2022-10-14 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, just like how in bjd fandom they ship the dolls with each other. And the crossovers - wild stuff, man. Those Agatha/Honey I Washed the Kids fics will rock. your. world.

NAYRT

I don't know if you're joking about the fics. Is it like product placement or....the products gain sentience? Or...???

Lush fic

DA

I looked up Lush products on AO3 to try to figure out if this was a joke, and there's a lot of fic about characters using Lush products or working at Lush. Mostly sexy bathtub fic, featuring Lush products.

I really hope people also write fic about the actual products as characters (they could be cartoon characters!), but I couldn't be bothered to scroll or search enough to find any.

Um, some of us prefer our bath products to be gen.

I used to like Lush a lot, but their catalogue seems to have contracted, and they no longer sell Demon in the Dark soap, so....eh.

lush has a fandom?

(Anonymous) 2022-10-14 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I remember there being an LJ community for Lush fans years ago. People posted their hauls, enthused, some outright obsessed... Pretty sure there's still a lot of people posting haul vids and photo sets these days.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if people really did write fic, probably as jokes, but the more I think about it the more I'd be surprised if Lush fic didn't exist.

Fun fact it's only a fortnight since I went to a funeral and ran into a lady who was mutuals with a friend of mine from LOTR boards. I assumed they'd met as teachers but turns out they were on Lush boards together.

What’s embarrassing about this? Curious if I should avoid the company since they’re one of the few sources I can buy allergy-safe products. We don’t have one where I live though so I’ve never actually tried their stuff.

I was coming to ask the same, why is it embarrassing? Though maybe it depends on what kind of "major" part of their life it was. Like they wanted a whole Lush-themed wedding.

As for the products, I find their bath bombs too scented for my preferences, but I've always liked their shampoo, soaps, and shower gels.

I personally am a fan of their scrubs and some other items. I only get them occasionally since they're pricey, but... it's a treat for myself.

There was a Halloween product I wanted to buy last year, but I don't remember what it was!

(Anonymous) 2022-10-14 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
I keep going back to Lush because my face apparently has an extreme allergy to basically every skin product and they have the only facial scrubs/moisturizers that don't make my face turn into a giant itchy raspberry. I dared to dry my face with a new towel tonight and that was enough to set it off. :

Lush's Halloween products are dope, and their Halloween promotional images are always on point. I'm not so much a fan as more of an occasional buyer, but man, every Halloween I want to buy ALL their seasonal products. (I currently have a bottle of Lord Of Misrule body wash in the shower, in honor of it being Spooky Season. XD)

I suspect I'd have become a Lush fan if it weren't for the fact that I dislike baths. I'm a shower person, through and through. And often it's their bath bombs that are the most intensely appealing, plus they get used up quickly so you always have an excuse to buy yourself a couple, as a treat. Whenever I go in I drool over the pretty, pretty bath bombs. I'm so enamored with how fun and lavish they all are. But I never buy any, because realistically I know that even a bougie-af bath bomb can't make me like baths.

And I don't do their skincare, because I lean fairly hard into the science side of skincare, and while Lush skincare may work well for some people, on the whole their formulations don't stand up very well to that kind of scrutiny.
