Yet for some mysterious reason, the female elves can manage! Galadriel weirdly didn't get a pixie cut. Such a surprise!
Like, Glorfindel literally died because of his hair, might as well lean into that! But no, they were too scared of it. And also, you are aware that you can tie hair up/braid it so it doesn't get in the way, right?
(Also... it's not like long hair wasn't a thing in history among warfaring people. Mongolian tribes, Vikings.... all completely short haired!)

And yes, I am salty about the lack of male elven eyecandy, sue me. That's kinda the thing about elves.
Despite all their claims of diverse casting, casting pretty dudes with long hair in important roles was the point were it got too spicy for them, I guess.
