That's how I felt about the Blair Witch Project (except the Babadook is cute, if you're a monsterfucker, or easy to identify with, if you're one of various kinds of marginalised persons).

Huh? I'm very confused about what you're trying to say.

I found The Babadook genuinely disturbing, but also moving, though I was expecting it to be more terrifying. (Don't know why the previous commenter was expecting "cool".)

The Blair Witch Project just wasn't scary, unless you were one of the first people who saw it when people still thought it was actually real. And nothing about it as a film really compares to The Babadook, except they're both in the horror genre.

Anyway... to the degree that the Babadook himself does nothing to hurt anyone, and the true monster of the movie is grief and fear, I do agree about him as a character being a good subject for being considered cute, and I love the transformative love given to him by the queer community. And I love the rainbow glitter design of this secret.
