Comment but not secret OP here. I can't do audiobooks, but I may hunt down that part, I guess just to torture myself.

And yeah, I'm torn between hoping desperately the show gets to finish the whole comics run and knowing I'll have cried my body weight in tears if I watch it all.

If you reeeeally want to torture yourself I can recommend hearing the best (worst) parts of Brief Lives, McAvoy does a really good job. You can hear trying-to-be-stoic in his voice and this is absolutely heartbreaking
