As someone who basically eats up any and all versions of Cinderella, I wouldn't say the recent live action Cinderella was much like Ever After. For one, the story is closer to the animated Disney version. And as for characters, Ella was strong in her own way but she was no Danielle. I did enjoy the story though, and I will add that Richard Madden was fucking beautiful as the prince.

aw that's too bad. I was hoping it at least had a "prince is humbled by cinderella" vibe, but yeah I can't see disney ever going as hard as Fox let Danielle go.
