(Anonymous) 2022-10-22 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)Crushes don't have to be sexual. Sexual attraction and affection are two separate things, yeah, sometimes they go together, but sometimes they don't. I'm not asexual, but my little kid crushes did not have any sort of sexual component.
Why can't an asexual write porn? I write about all kinds of things I find interesting to write, in the abstract, but don't want to actually experience - murder, mayhem, violence, cannibalism (and that's just for Hannibal)

(Anonymous) 2022-10-22 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)Also, attraction is complicated. For most people there is substantial overlap between romantic attraction and sexual attraction, but for some people they're two totally separate things with no overlap at all. Also, some ace people report feeling a kind of disconnected attraction; a feeling of "unf, they're hot" that exists over top of the underlying certainty that, if they somehow had the chance to do the sex with that person, they wouldn't be interested.
