It makes sense for this to be a secret and guilty pleasure, Nonny, because that was a truly terrible movie (with truly terrible CGI). Sorry. But hot crush choices, and Liam Neeson was also in it.

I remember being obsessed with this film at the time because I was (still am) obsessed with haunted house stories but...it really is a bad film and a bad adaption. I have watched it a couple of times since for the nostalgia value so can understand it being a guilty pleasure of yours.

The recent TV show, though only very very loosely connected to the novel, hits all my haunted house buttons a lot better. With ghost stories less is always more when it comes to special effects.

This one falls solidly into "so bad it's good" territory for me. Solid cast, but between the corny CGI and the "interesting" direction, I can easily imagine the MST3K silhouette across the bottom of the screen.
