Really? It was light-hearted and silly but I thought it was a lot of fun and very much a tribute to the She-Hulk comics.

Can I ask how so? (actually asking)
I'm not currently caught up with the comics, (which should explain everything I guess;;) but I can't quite wrap my head around what I (think I) know vs. what I see via the series.

It's not current comics, it's comic runs from the last 30 years or so. She-Hulk has always been a fourth-wall-breaking character, which she does here very well, and she balances her legal work (usually with dodgy third-rate supervillains) with being an Avenger and/or cosmic stuff. The tone was pretty much perfect for that.
goodbyebird: Comic: She-Hulk is looking mighty buff. (C ∞ mean green fighting machine)

Very much this.

DA

I enjoyed it. I haven't read the comics so I can't compare, but it felt good. A bit of bite, in what troubles She-Hulk, but a bit of irreverence as well.

Everything you listed is pretty much /exactly/ why I avoided the show to begin with.
Honestly, I feel really bad for the actress since her roles are always so promising, (ntm how unbelievably talented she is) but the writing never seems to measure up by the end of it.

I would have watched it 110% if it came out at any other time pretty much. As it was, all I saw was Disney trying to bury its assets as far as they could, and Marvel desperate to fill some nonxexistant niche/pathetically attempting to cover the lack of a proper Black Widow movie by throwing the first female protag they had and make it sexy.
Like I've long since given up pretending that film adaptations of comicdom haven't already failed with that same exact script over a dozen times with original characters before being lumped in with whichever character they can get away with and then some... but I really did want this show to be more than it was.

...have you watched any of the other Marvel shows? Jessica Jones? WandaVision? Both with female protagonists. Hawkeye had a female protagonist (but also a male one). I'm not saying it will be to everyone's taste, but this is a super weird take on "the first female protag they had". I really doubt you would have watched it any other time.

I would have liked a bulkier Jennifer, but she does get to dress in a lot more than she usually wears in the comics.

Didn’t watch a lot of it, but I felt like it had really interesting ideas and setups that were ultimately rushed through, often shot in a very workmanlike way that did few favors for the pacing or storytelling. Jokes often seemed underworked or belabored, and the same with a number of the emotional stakes. It just feels so close to something I’d like, it’s frustrating!

I'll eventually watch the Daredevil episodes for my favorite funeral stealing whore but She Hulk had 2 episodes to win me over and it didn't quite work. I wanted to like it, but meh.

The show is a comedy. It's pretty blatantly, obviously, deliberately, a comedy. It's not a failed attempt at drama, that you laugh at because you can't take it seriously. The jokes and fourth wall breaking are on purpose.
