Or maybe art quality is in the eye of the beholder sometimes, and you’re being disingenuous about this. The anon above you is right.

Nah, it's true. You don't have to be a good artist to get attention if you're drawing the stuff the fans eat up.

I was at a con a few months back and there was one artist who was selling little acrylic charms of characters that were designed in a way so you could get two and hook them together and make it look like your favorite ship was kissing. The art was about as low-effort and low-talent as you get, they literally just used exactly the same head model for every single character and then drew on the eyes, hair, etc.

And they had people swarming around their table all because people wanted to get keychains of their pet ship kissing.

It’s not true across the board.

And art quality is subjective.
