Today is the first time the supply chain issues have hit close to home. Everyone appears to be out of my cat's prescription food. We have a couple weeks worth left, thankfully. But if someone doesn't get some in stock before we run out, not sure what we'll do. This is the only food that doesn't cause her to get painful UTIs.

I'm so sorry. I hope you can find some. How nerve-wracking.

I work at a chain Pet store on the East Coast. What prescription food are you looking for? I might be able to help you find a supplier.

Part-time jobs that advertise that you can work any shifts you want at any time; but in the interview if you don't say that you're available 24/7 with the sole intention of dedicating your life to retail or something - then you might as well turn down the opportunity of a chance in the first place.

I'm a carer looking after my brother and parents and just about every job Interview I've done have been unsympathetic about that (Claries Accessories being the one place that straight up said "Hmmm - that means your parents could be unwell at any time..." which imagine saying that to a single parent about their kid potentially getting sick at school. Probably could have complained about that, but honestly I'm not that sad to fail that interview since I'm not keen on forcing an ear infection on people via piercing gun).

The only reason they don't say that to a single parent is because it's specifically illegal. They absolutely think it and discriminate in hiring.

Ugh. I"m so so sorry. That really sucks, and those people are awful.

Bet you anything that the same companies then turn around and complain how noone wants to work anymore.

I hope you find a decent employer, anon.

I wish there were decent work from home options, but so many of them are just rip offs....

This new person at work is starting to act like they're my boss. They have some good ideas and I want to encourage that but they're not my boss and it's starting to get on my nerves when they act that way.

You need to find a way to sabotage them in the eyes of the person who is actually the boss

people who advertise for administration assistants when they really mean a receptionist. what you're looking for is a receptionist.

Not intending to be incendiary, but what's the difference? I thought the term AA had just replaced the term receptionist?

I sometimes feel like a lot of companies try to make their positions sound more fancy by using these terms without knowing they are actually different jobs than what they're looking for.

My administrative assistant job covered both receptionist work and the other tasks admins typically do. There were also three of us and we took turns doing the reception work. I liked that system.

I really want to get fast food after work today, but I know my stomach isn’t in the mood for it.

It finally happened. I knew it was bound to eventually but I was praying I would never have to see it for myself. Just now read someone use the term ‘blorbo’ about a fucking Bloodborne character. In turn I have been cursed now to forever read ‘Bloodborne’ as Blor-borne.

I am at Youmacon! And it is warmer than Youmacon normally is, so I won't freeze going between buildings for a change!

Except I can't enjoy it because it was a pleasant drive and then about 30 miles out there was a traffic jam and it took 45 minutes to go 3 miles, so that and some earlier construction added an hour onto the trip.

I haven't eaten all day and have barely drunk anything, but feel too nauseated to do so now even after having exerted myself getting the luggage into the car and out of it after arrival. Which may or may not be why I have a headache that has been steadily increasing.

So here I am at a con, the night is young and not cold... and I feel too lousy to do anything but lie in bed. May just go to sleep despite it not even being 10. :P

Dude. Get you something like ginger ale, 7UP or sprite and ...little sips, little sips. Until your stomach can handle some water and then maybe a little bit of fruit or crackers.

They're still making us do Covid contact tracing at work, but they don't tell us when we've been exposed to Covid, so I don't get what the point is.

Ads have gotten so bad on mobile versions of sites that I’m getting real close to getting rid of my smartphone altogether.

It's snowing, I'm fatigued, and the one person I can't stand at work is back from their vacation. I have to work another fucking day after this. I'm tired. I want to hide in my room!!!
