Couldn’t agree more. I was so disappointed by what the movie actually was.

And my mother was excited to see it because Merida was the first Disney Princess with more or less realistically colored red hair, unlike Ariel, and she takes pride in being a redhead. Especially because she grew up in a time when people looked down upon red hair, so seeing a shade closer to her’s in a Disney movie was cool. But she really ended up hating Merida’s character, so that excitement dissipated.
