she did take responsibility for her fuck ups though. did we not see the same film? in the final fifteen-twenty minutes from the time they get back to the castle she acknowledges that everything is her fault, that she almost caused a war to break out because she simply wasn't ready for marriage. being forced to marry at sixteen or at the very least look for suitors, while she still has things she wants to do and has been encouraged to be as independent as she can be by her father, and she has a bad relationship with her mother. the whole point was patching their relationship and growing to understand each other.

you know who else is a whiny spoiled brat? Ariel, but I never see anyone jump on her for her entitled 'but daddy I love him' and turning to the sea witch for a solution to her problems.
