OP - I guess that's the problem then, because it definitely gives me pause when a male character is described as being hairless out of nowhere. It takes me out of the fic for a minute because usually I don't headcanon the character as someone who goes through the effort of removing their body hair on the regular, so then I either have to imagine that they do go through the effort of removing all their body hair on the regular, or I have to explain the hairlessness some other way. Because hairlessness isn't just a normal state for 99.9% of people.

*That should say 'natural' not 'normal.' I'm sure being mostly hairless is normal for plenty of people. I just mean very few people are naturally hairless without doing anything to achieve hairlessness.
