Related to your vent, I'd like more variety in crime shows and books. I feel like half the crime shows or novels that I see or read in the US start with a pretty white girl running frantically through a forest and then in the next scene her parents are looking for her. I'd like a little more exploration of different demographics. I know teenage girls are seen as more vulnerable but it's a) boring and b) makes girls look helpless.

And why why why do they (if it's a teen girl) always seem to have to have some kind of sadism/torture/porn/rape angle in there somewhere? Just...enough, please.

It's the writers hitting all their own kinks. Bleurgh.

I remember reading about a group of men reacting with horror to that film with the teeth vagina where this woman has sex with men and bites of their cocks. These men were scandalised and couldn't understand why anyone would want to watch it. It all becomes crystal clear when you realise that every genre even crime and horror is geared towards men's titillation. It's only truly horrible for women.
