You said "gender/sexuality," so I assume you also don't like it when a character who appears to be straight and was presumably intended to be straight in the canon is interpreted as bi, or just shipped with a same-gender character without bringing up sexuality?

NAYRT but personally, I dislike when certain characters who have canon (straight) love interests are interpreted as being in a relationship with someone else (often of the same gender). It's not in a "eww you like that??" way (usually, unless it's a love triangle and then I can get petty) just a "won't read fanfic with that ship" way. Because I support the canon couple I just don't like the other couple that reads as non-canon-compliant to me.

But this goes for me regardless of gender. To give an example, A (guy) is B (girl)'s canon couple/love interest and I like the couple, but A is BFFs with C (guy) and so people ship them, in that scenario I may not like A/C or even the reading that it's possible. But it wouldn't be different if A was C's canon love interest and I supported them, then I would be "against" A/B too. (again, not in a "ewwww let's personally target their fans" way, just in a "ew DNW that couple" way.) It has happened to me with every combination of genders I feel - some people like monogamy what can I say.

But that's just a matter of "dnw that interpretation" which goes for anything in fanworks, not just gender and sexuality?
