This. Show Cersei is actually smart and good at scheming. The original book version is not, she just thinks she is. TBH I like the show version better, but I like a powerful, intelligent female villain.

I hated the Euron subplot, but I actually like both, and it's due entirely to medium. I like being in book!Cersei's head, and I don't think I would have liked watching her be delusional without that. Also, they buffed everybody up a bit, and it would have been very boring to have her not be anywhere close to what Olenna and Tywin were giving, and made Jaime's loyalty even more incomprehensible.
