Oh good, that's something I was worried about. Seeing this complex nuanced depiction of trauma and recovery get stereotyped and warped over the years into a block of wood has been driving me nuts for a long time, so hearing the remake does Cloud justice is a relief.

He's so good in the remake. He's still mid-mindfuck and all the trauma that comes with that is on full display, but he's also a full-on smart ass sometimes. He's funny, he's kind, you get glimpses of the real him that just wants to have friends and be someone other people rely on. Remake Cloud really is a breath of fresh air for the fans who were tired of the one note sad boy he became.
