I loved it right up until the ending. I legit wanted to toss the book right off my balcony.

I really enjoyed it but I remember being slightly "disappointed" in that everyone always talks about the house being a main character and I wanted MORE of the house. I don't mean loads of backstory or tedious exposition, I can't explain it but that was my end thought "needs even more house."

I didn't like it either. But "The Lottery" slaps.

I think it made it really clear the main character is ripe for a breakdown before she gets to the house, in a way that wouldn't have been as effective in 3rd person omniscient.

but it's very daydreamy writing
