Regardless of the joke, I don't feel too bad with his loss knowing that he and the red ranger's actor made the life of the blue ranger hell for him being gay. Only for the bullies showing up in gay porn later on.

No bulk and skull are actually cool and never bullied the blue ranger's actor. I'm talking about the actors behind the white and red rangers irl bullying the blue ranger's actor to the point of trauma. The pink and yellow ranger's actors had to help him out and support him a lot through the horrible experience. It's why despite the show being a big childhood thing for me, I've never had the stomach to rewatch it knowing how much of a horrible time the blue ranger was having.

AYRT As far as I knew, they had perfectly reasonable actors, but I wasn't old enough to want to track down information about the cast when I was watching Power Rangers. So everything about backstage drama passed me by, and I knew nothing about this. Thanks for explaining, anon.

Not the person you replied to but a shallow google search led me find info that David Yost did say that he faced harassment on the set from staff, which led him to leave the show (or at least was part of the reason why) but he didn't name any cast members. At least not that I could find. Apparently Jason David Frank was known to be a 'prankster' though so it is believable he might've taken things too far.

Yeah, I was actually aware of why David Yost, had left the show, and statements he made. That's why I was so confused as he had never to my knowledge indicated any other cast members were involved in all the shit he was put through. Also from what I've seen Yost, and Frank had actually remained really close appearing at conventions together, and stuff. I know everyone is different, but even if there was a genuine apology, and forgiveness there I find difficult to believe Yost would be comfortable continuing to hang out with a man who had apparently participated in harassing him to the point he was contemplating suicide.

Also looking onto the "Red ranger actor did gay porn!" thing, that looks like early internet bullshit that has been debunked for years.

Like many, I was a kid when the show aired and I never bothered looking into the cast/dynamics so I didn't even know that much about David Yost or why he left. He also posted a heartfelt tribute to JDF too so I do believe you're right regarding the state of their recent relationship.

I didn't even hear that rumor either. I'm not surprised it is BS.
