Yeah, I always got the feeling that comics Dream was maybe a jealous lover (and if Kilalla was his first, maybe that was why) but not a possessive one?

Even with Nada, where he was absolutely an utter asshole, he was pissed at her for denying him when they both knew she loved him back, not because he thought she had no right to refuse him.

As for the actors, man, they both knocked it out of the park here.

Calliope was briefly so pissed when she thought he was being possessive, and he was so confused, and hoo boy he was not ready to talk about Orpheus, presumably for (enormous spoiler) reasons.

And I absolutely believed they still loved each other, but even with their newly rediscovered understanding, they still didn't entirely trust each other.

Also, the word of god that none of her sisters came to the wedding because they thought she was being an idiot—oof. Although I wonder how much of that was them being spoiled via prophecy for where it would lead and just noping out early.
