To be fair, I don't hate the girl. I loved her in In Bruges. And she's a very pretty young lady. Not Veela pretty, but who is?

That being said, she can't help it if they wrote Fleur to SUCK in the fourth movie, but she was a far cry from anything remotely resembling Fleur Delacour. Where was the attitude? Where was the competency that proved WHY she got picked as her school's champion? Where?

Well, you said it above ... they wrote Fleur to suck in the fourth movie. Clemenence couldn't show Fleur being competent in the movie, because Fleur wasn't written as competent in the movie. She couldn't portray Fleur's attitude in the movie, because they didn't write any attitude for her, or very little at any rate.

I've seen her display plenty of attitude and competency in other roles. If they'd written such stuff for her here, I'm confident she could have pulled it off.

It's the writers who dropped the ball on the character, not the actress.

I was a little sad that Fleur wasn't really snobby at all in the movies (I liked that about her in the books), but I think she was great anyway. And the "she's not pretty enough" argument is just absurd. If a veela is impossibly pretty, then no one will be "pretty enough." I think she's plenty pretty, and she did a good job.

She's too beautiful. Like, she's classically, subtly beautiful, and I always pictured Fleur as an over-the-top cheerleader/underwear model type. You know, the type that a 14-year-old boy would lose his mind over. But I like her as Fleur anyway, even though the movie kinda took out all the comedy associated w/ her character. :P

Fleur's character was written in the movie to be nearly non-existent anyway, so I didn't care. Clémence is just goddamn beautiful.

I didn't find her all that interesting in Harry Potter (she...honestly didn't do a whole lot, did she?) but I liked her a whole lot in In Bruges, she held her own against Collin Farrell. I think she's gonna do fine in the biz.

you know i remember seeing the movie with my friends and they were all "WHAT! omg, she is not pretty enough" so i just kept my mouth shut but i think she gooooorgeous. she has a look about her, something i can't put my finger on, that makes her sexy in this unattainable, distant way. i think she was a great fleur but like other commenters have said before me it's not like they wrote her a great part in the movie.
