[x-men origins: wolverine]

(Anonymous) 2009-05-08 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that's just silly.

(Anonymous) 2009-05-08 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not going to hurt your cred - from what I hear the movie sucks anyway.

And besides, when the next big DC movie comes out, you can invite him then...

(Anonymous) 2009-05-08 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? I'm a DC fangirl too, but that doesn't stop me from crossing the line occasionally. Especially if it meant hanging out with someone I liked.. Don't be one of those closed off DC vs Marvel fans, please.

[identity profile] kinosino.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
This. Corporate rivalries drive me up the wall. Just go and enjoy yourself, OP. Don't worry if you don't like the movie, I hear a lot of Marvel fans didn't either.

(Anonymous) 2009-05-08 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. There's good stuff and there's crap on both sides of the aisle. Limiting yourself to one side for the sake of a label is absurd and I'll never understand it.

[identity profile] smirnoffmule.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Zactly. Slave to capitalism, or what? Personally, I just like the stories I like, makes no particular odds to me who publishes them. It's not like a marriage, or supporting a football team, and it means inevitably you're going to miss out on something good for the sake of some lame principal (though perhaps not the Wolverine movie, I grant you ;)

[identity profile] the-mutant.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
...really. well I mean you did phrase the secret as "a boy who likes me". So I'm going to go with, you obviously don't like him back if you can't go see a movie because you're a DC fan.

Or you could go see the movie, talk about why you prefer DC afterwards and invite him out to the next DC movie when comes out; but hey... that's just what I think. Or cancel the date and hope he asks you out again.

[identity profile] ship-in-harbor.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That's all kinds of ridiculous. Obvs I'm a Marvel fangirl and I really, really don't like Supes but I love Batman and a lot of other DC creations. Contemplate what you're missing out on by being crazy.

[identity profile] shampayn.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
honey you crazy. i prefer dc as well, but i liked this movie--plus, hello, a guy who likes you? be a trooper and score some points with him by sticking it out. plus you can make him watch a dc film with you in return :)

[identity profile] random00.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know the whole "don't cross the DC/Marvel line" use to be the big thing... God, years ago, but it was stupid then and it's stupid now.
I thought of myself as a bit of a Marvel girl, mostly because my childhood hero was Spiderman, and I adored Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men. But from those days as a do-eyed six year old, I've since expanded into DC territory and found a new love of Batman, Watchmen and The Authority (although technically they belong to Wildstorm). Hell, I've dabbled back in Marvel territory with Deadpool.

It's really not the publisher, it's the content and the storyline. So I pretty much have to second everything already said. You're missing out.

And on the "boy who lives you" front. Why not take a chance? Suck it up and go to the movie with him. It's not like you'll be incurring the wrath of Alan Moore and the DC Gods. Although... it's Moore, so you never know.

[identity profile] mellow-dk.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Given how much Alan Moore hates DC, you may actually get cookies.

[identity profile] random00.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
eh. True.

By the way, I adore you for the Saiyuki icon. :D

are you serious? what the hell? think about what you're doing.

god damn insane fangirls.

[identity profile] mimes.livejournal.com 2009-05-08 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
From one DC fangirl to the next, WHAT THE HELL.
I would've been really disappointed if I saw that for a midnight launch, though.

[identity profile] morgana006.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'll never understand the whole Marvel vs DC thing.

Unless, you know, we're talking this (http://www.youtube.com/user/ItsJustSomeRandomGuy). At which point I'm on Deadpool's side.

[identity profile] schala-kid.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ditto, I am mostly a DC girl but if Deadpool asked me to runaway with him I would so do it without even thinking about it.

[identity profile] morgana006.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Deadpool.

Pimp.

[identity profile] jikeidannin.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
What, seriously? I'm a DC boy all the way, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying Marvel movies.
I mean, did you like skip out on Iron Man? Because that was a seriously good movie.

As for Wolverine, I mean...HUGH JACKMAN. Why miss that?!

[identity profile] tavalya-ra.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
You can't like both? I like both!

[identity profile] bamf-girl.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
That's pretty retarded. I consider myself more of a "marvel" fangirl, to be honest, but I still love going to see the Batman movies, Watchmen, and the other ones DC puts out. And Hellboy too... can't think of anything else that's come out fairly recently.
I mean, this guy I'm into, he loves the Green Lantern, and I don't give two shits about Hal Jordan, but when the movie comes out, if we're still going out, I'll be there with him. XP

You've gotta support the whole industry, that way, ALL comic book movies can continue being made.

[identity profile] tx5mym5.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I have to agree that that's really silly. Do you know how many creators/writers/artists have done projects for both DC and Marvel?

They're only rivals in the minds of narrow people.
