Sorry guys, but I love Pride and Prejudice (Perhaps a wet-shirted Colin Firth in the TV series a bit too much) but I fail to see how this is not the most awesome idea ever?

Yeeees. As a proud owner/reader of this book, I agree. It's so amazing.

I think it looks CRAZY FUN.

Parody books aren't hugely irregular--I know I've seen entire series of LOTR parodies, HP parodies, and the like. I'm not sure why people are aghast as though this is something new.

I work in a book-related industry and seriously my whole office has been talking about this book. We want a whole series of Regency literature with supernatural monsters inserted in: Jane Eyre and Vampires! Sense and Sensibility and Werewolves! It would take the literary world by storm.

See, this? Would actually make me enjoy Austen. I know that as a proud owner of a vagina I'm supposed to adore all of her works, but it all strikes me as boring as shit. From what I understand, the original text is either still all there or mostly there, just with some extra action fun for those of us who like that sort of thing.

In short: I'm buying a copy of this the second I have enough time to read it.

I loved Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized Parody and I am sure I will love this twice a hard.

Idk if it'll become the definitive version for me (I'm almost halfway through it now), but it really is fucking amazing, y'all. Zombies. ZOMBIES. Elizabeth Bennet, in the middle of her walk to sick!Jane at the Bingleys', pulling a knife out of her boot and killing zombies! Mr. Darcy's first appearance at the Netherfield ball sending whispers rocketing around the room about how rich and handsome he is, and how he's said to have killed over a thousand zombies! I am a mega Austen fan, but it's all done in the spirit of the original AND IT'S FUCKING AWESOME, OKAY.
