Have you had dogs before? I remember the last dog I adopted from the shelter, I just knew I'd made a mistake. He was clingy, way too playful, and just a mess. But about two weeks into it, I found myself being fond of that lil bugger and I kept him for seven years (when I moved across country I couldn't take him with me; fortunately he and my mom were absolute besties so he got to stay with her!).

A thing to remember is that you have not actually met this dog yet, not really. The personality you're seeing isn't who he actually is. Give him time to get comfortable with you and his place with you.

Yeah, it's a big adjustment from cats! Give yourself time too. It's only been a couple of days. You guys will learn how to be around each other. :3
