As someone who shipped them pretty hard way back and still hasn’t watched the movies (been spoiled a lot already, of course) I am eager to have this experience as well (and a lil worried abt how bad my kawoshin brainrot will get)

I still prefer the Original Anime/Movie or Manga Kaworu, but the movie was pretty queer as well. Shinji has even more bisexual energy this time IMHO.
I love how everyone came out the theatre thinking one het couple (I have no idea if you know the ending so I won't spoil it) was canon and I'm like... nah. STILL TOTALLY GAY. AND NOW EVEN MORE.
Also, when you see it, please report here if you think the ending was romantic endgame because for me it was absolutely not LOL and I'm not against Shinji having a canon romantic partner. I just didn't see the endscene as romantic AT ALL.

Ehh I have seen the kiss with Kaji but I don't know if Shinji could radiate even more bi energy than in the original anime & manga lol. Oh, about Rei I heard it but seems like... they went the opposite way from EotE. The thing about kawoshin for me is that it's the only Eva relationship that feels organic like a real life crush - and of course it's also the one that ends up tragically in every rendition. Not sure if my impression is going to be the same after actually watching the movies! Sure, I will report here on FS!

I totally agree with you. In the original anime Shinji comes off as a guy dealing with his very first genuine romantic feelings.
I do believe that in the manga Shinji/Rei makes kind of sense because it's more flashed out (even if incest lol poor shinji) BUT UHM THEN THE STORY HAPPENED SO NOPE. Poor Rei and poor Kaworu...

As I said I didn't particularly like the movies (I fear I'm too gay and too old to enjoy media intended for mainly japanese men), BUT I'm glad I watched them because kawoshin is keeping me alive atm. I hope you will like them more than I did and you will enjoy this rendition of Kaworu!
