ITT people complaining that a genre with key features that attract mpreg enjoyers has a lot of people writing mpreg for it.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Lmao Fair enough. But there are other aspects to A/B/O besides mpreg, and some people prefer those other aspects. And even if they didn’t, people should always tag for mpreg if it’s in their fic. Instead of thinking people would just assume there would be mpreg just because it’s an A/B/O fic. When not all A/B/O fics have that.

The issue is not that there is a lot of mpreg, the issue is that mpreg is som common and to be expected in this genre that people don't bother tagging it in a lot of cases and someone who wants to read A/B/O bus dislikes mpreg still often gets mpreg shoved in their face without warning.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
This.

Hey, if it's so common then maybe the A/B/O "community" has spoken and mpreg is just woven into the fabric of the genre now. I mean, obviously it was going to happen when you make heat cycles a prominent aspect. You know how people use to tag for slash but now few if any does anymore because tagging the pairing already makes it obvious?

Hell, maybe the folks ITT writing A/B/O but NO MPREG PREGNANCY ISN'T POSSIBLE HERE should tag for it, because that doesn't sound like something the average enjoyer would expect.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It's still dumb as fuck not to tag FOR mpreg, considering some people may WANT to read it and not also get into every story guessing "will I get my kink or not?". Not tagging is shit stupid EITHER WAY.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
lmao tilt your windmills, you're never going to get what you want.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Except they actually know what they’re talking about. You’re just talking out of your ass. They would “get what they want” all the time, because the majority of mpreg in A/B/O is tagged.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
So.... are you actually dumb or just opposed to proper tagging for everyone's benefit on principle (which... would also be pretty dumb so I guess I have my answer)?

+100

This is such a weird post. It’s not how it works. The “community” hasn’t spoken about anything regarding this. Mpreg is not in every A/B/O work. And that doesn’t mean that the people who don’t write it aren’t part of the community.

And your slash example doesn’t really work. Because first off, when people say “warn for mpreg”, they mean “tag mpreg”. And tagging mpreg is common in the A/B/O community. Some people are just negligent, and that’s what the secret is complaining about. Those fringe people. And second, it’s not in the tag/warning section, but AO3 at least let’s readers know if the work has slash or not by having it be marked with M/F, M/M, and F/F. So slash is still “warned for” there, it’s just not because people are trying to sidestep around homophobes as much anymore. Telling people if the work has slash isn’t some lost thing that isn’t done anymore. And people, including in the A/B/O community, won’t stop wanting mpreg tagged either. I’ve never talked to anyone else in the community that thinks it’s baked into the concept enough that it shouldn’t be warned for when it happens. That’s just absurd.

Are you just blathering rudely for the sake of seeing yourself say shit, or..? Because you're speaking with a lot of self-superiority for someone who is giving all bad takes and no good ones.
