(Anonymous) 2022-12-06 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)Well I mean, generally, of course there are exceptions, but dogs would be clingy - this is why I can't with dogs. I only had one dog in my life, a poodle my parents gave me when I was 7 or something. And I loved her at first because she was shy, but then she got comfortable with us and started running and peeing and I realized that wasn't for my autistic ass. Then I lived with my aunt who had an adult stray and I ended up liking her because she was quiet and warm but only because she was old already. It's not the rule for most breeds they aren't the way you see them in cute puppy videos or petshops.
On the other hand, cats are much more my thing. Sometimes they'll run away and visit the neighbor and maybe flee lol but they are less work I feel. Then again, there's an accomodation period for every animal (even... us.) and it's often longer than 2 weeks.
