Yeah, I've been an atheist my whole life but went to a religious high school and some hymns have really stuck with me ever since.

I'm still religious, but not remotely close to the kind I grew up around. I hate how Youtube keeps thinking that just because I listen to religious music along with every other kind of music under the sun, I want to watch crackpot conspiracy videos or awful conservative videos spewing with hatred.

Although Youtube has a bad habit of thinking that when you watch any type of content...

I totally understand this. I'm an atheist, as well, but at Xmas time, a lot of Xmas hymns really get to me because it brings this rush of nostalgia for the Xmas of my youth; going to cut a tree, all of us decorating it, dressing up in our 'church' clothes to go out into the cold and snowy night for Xmas eve service, the tree glowing in the dark house when we got home.... All of us together, all of us excited, happy, holding secrets we know will make someone's day on Xmas morning.

The language of the hymns don't mean anything anymore, but oh, those memories.... :D
