Fandom is Booktok I guess?

Secret: I really don't get the obsession with annotating books? I mean, I love reading, I love speculating on where a story may go while reading it, but I have to wonder what these people are putting all these tabs for.

Some of the tiktoks I've seen with annotated books, the side of the book is like... a mass of tags. WHAT ARE YOU TAGGING?? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THIS BOOK AFTER YOU'VE SPENT ALL THIS TIME TAGGING IT?

Are they tagging stuff while they read? Like... I feel like that would just pull me right out of a book to be micro-analysing it to such a degree, if that's what they're doing.

I don't want to be judgmental because yay! People are reading! I just... it seems so pretentious to me.
