I like both. It really depends on how much I like the characters individually and as separate ships. Because if I like them all equally, I want the polyship to be equal too. But if I like one character the best, then I prefer V polyships with my fave getting the most attention. I know that’s self-indulgent and unbalanced, but that’s how I feel about it .

Well, it's fic. Everybody has a preference, and there's nothing wrong with enjoying yourself.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
That’s very true, thanks.

I also need everyone involved in the relationship to love each other equally. But I still like v-style polyamory relationships. Basically I think it's really interesting and charming to find a way to write a v-style relationship that *is* equal and loving on all sides. I really like it when the open ends of the V aren't romantically or sexually attracted to each other but *do* have a deep and real platonic bond or friendship.

Also, I think threesomes are really hot.

I like this too, and it's so, so rare in my fandoms.

Seconding(thirding?) this!

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Same!
It can be fun if this characters sexually or romantically not clicking but still have love and respect in their relationships. Sadly it's not often written well

Say it louder!!

I like a triangle best but a V is okay, on the condition that it's not two people competing for the third. I haaaaate that. They have to at least be friendly.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's OK if they compete over the third person in a sexy way imo

But not if it's an actual competition

DA

This!

Vs are okay, and triangles are great, but my latest OT3 has introduced me to a brand new one to me: the T. Characters A and B as the "couple" and character C as their very, very adored lapdog (because he's too awkward to respond to direct affection but absolutely flourishes through tsun-ing over being teased and being a bit of a cuckold lmao).

I really love all the variety you can find in threesomes.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
that sounds great!

I like poly V's a lot better than stories that insist three characters all have to be in love with each other. Never mind "equally" in love with each other.

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree so much!

(Anonymous) 2022-12-13 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I do too depending on the characters.

Me too, OP.

When I write fic about 3 people in a relationship, I like them all to love and fuck each other, but I prefer each pair relationship to be based in different things.

In entertainment I consume, I'm fine with both Vs and triads. In real life, same thing.
