Quick car question

What would be a fancy car that a teen girl in 96-98 would have, one that would make her stand out in the school parking lot? Without going into supercar territory, obviously, something realistic for a kid from a well off, but not superrich, family to have? Can anyone help with that?

Yeah, sometimes I get the feeling that a producer has sat through the edit with a stopwatch and gone "we've gone seven point three minutes without an action scene, so we need one here" or "now is where we need to have the secondary hero pull a betrayal even though they've shown no sign beforehand, for the twist scene". It isn't fun at this point.

I had some well-off women friends in college at that time, both had BMWs. I think they were both 3 series (one was a convertible).

Sadly agree. A lot of movies feel like they're constructed around Big Action Sequences which get the lion's share of the budget and focus. Stuff like characterization, overall plot, writing and pacing are a lower priority, IMO.

I was in high school around this time in a school district full of well off but not super-rich families in the suburbs of a mid-sized city. IIRC, one girl drove an actual Cadillac - not brand new, but not ancient, with vanity license plates that had her name on them. (I probably don't need to tell you she was an awful person.) Another drove a little red Miata. I'd say that older BMW or Mecedes-Benz was not out of the question - think "my dad got a brand new Benz and gave me his older one" situation.

Well, it's a cliche for a reason. But maybe something like a Miata, I remember those being somewhat popular.
