If you’re saying that people shouldn’t act like queer happy no-conflict stories are the only types of queer stories that exist, or else you’re “being a bad activist or a secret bigot”, then I agree.

If you’re saying that dark and messy queer stories aren’t the only ones that should exist, then I agree with that too. But that’s not what sabotabby is saying, that there should be no queer no-conflict stories. And that’s not what GFM is saying either just because she doesn’t personally like those types of stories.

This. There can be more than one type of queer story. No one is asking cishets to choose between cozy romance and edgy lit fic.

Nah, if it's clear that she HATES those types of stories, then she's really implying that she doesn't want them to exist and saying "It's okay if you like them, but you're wrong." If she hated them personally but still recognized their need to exist, she'd refrain from showing how much she hates them in her written work. It's called being professional.

That’s not how that works. That’s like saying that someone who really doesn’t like comedies is saying they shouldn’t exist, when that’s obviously not the case. Even if that person was a director, it’s not unprofessional to have preferences, even if the hatred they have is clear. You’re twisting her personal preferences into saying something she’s never said or implied to pretend you have a point. You’re displaying anti behavior by saying “someone who doesn’t like happy stories is toxic and doesn’t want anyone to be happy”, and aren’t any better than the people calling Isabel Falls transphobic for having a story featuring trans people that isn’t completely happy.
