I liked him in Broadchurch, which, yes, he was broody in that. But I thought he did a pretty good unhinged Barty Crouch, Jr. and thought he was funny in the parts of Staged that I watched. I haven't watched a lot of stuff with him in it, so can't speak to whether most of his more acclaimed roles were broody. But, really, why should he turn down the chance to play a character he obviously loves? And how is the BBC shoving him down your throat? You know you don't have to watch any of the things that he's in, right?
