AYRT - Well I like anime videos generally, it's just that sadly I don't know much about One Piece.

One Piece is the only anime I still really follow, so this is gonna be a bit tricky. I used to have a ton of anime fanvids saved on my old harddrive! Unfortunately, my old harddrive went the way of the dodo.

Knowledge of One Piece is not needed to enjoy this as it's basically a showcase of the amazing and creative settings of One Piece, without going into any plot at all. Just a few minutes of pretty landscapes as a change of pace.

I hope there's something in there for you! I tried to do a variety of anime fandoms but man, aside from forgetting half the shows I used to watch, so many fanvids I remember are just gone, apparently :/ If it's not on Youtube I had no chance of finding it again, which sucks.

I know, right? That Russia one is so left field, I love it. I used to have more of those random vids saved, but alas.

I'm surprisingly frustrated with how few I remember/was able to find again. I used to have a folder with more than 100+ saved fanvids on my external hard drive. Not all of them anime, but a good chunk.

But at least I got to watch the ones I remembered again, which was pretty fun!

Oww. Most AMVs I liked seem to have been lost in time too. And some others I reupped and managed to talk to the makers about them!

These AMVs are cool. The Don't Mess With Me song works really well for Izaya. Dernière danse is such a good song, it's in my playlist now. The mecha ones I had seen, mostly, but always great to rewatch, same for Hold Me Now (missing Princess Tutu hours now). The world of One Piece looks beautiful :) I don't know much about Fairy Tail, Magic Kaito or Kuroshitsuji either, so I had to skip those. And I approve your faves (not a huge fan of YOI or Haikyuu but Yurio and Oikawa were some of my favorite things about these anime respectively, so...). Thanks!

Speaking of fanvids. How do I find fanvids nowadays? YouTube search is basically unusable. Are there I dunno subreddits? Key words to include in my YouTube searching? Or music fanvids is a lost to tme thing?

I find mine mostly on Youtube, but the algorithm knows that fanvids is something I'm into, so YT often recommends me some.

If you're into anime fandoms, try adding AMV to your search terms, if you're not doing that already. Otherwise, try your fandom + a song you think would be a good fit and see if that brings any hits.

You have to slog through some middling vids sometimes until you find ones you enjoy. Same like fic, but a bit more annoying as at least AO3 doesn't keep throwing middling fic at you just because you clicked on one once to check it out.

This. Other than [name of anime] AMV, try MEP and/or MAD too. Once you find one you like it shouldn't be difficult to find others through Recommended Videos.

Adam Fitzroy, Make Do and Mend. Set in Wales during WW2. The mystery isn't a major element, though it's definitely there; it's more about coping with being gay in a small rural community in wartime. The author has written several cozy mysteries though I'm not sure how many are still in print. Try Bridge on the River Wye.
