Those two things are not, in fact, at odds. Presenting them as though they're fundamentally at odds and we have to choose between one or the other is wrong. We face no such choice. There is no need to sacrifice trans women at the altar of cis womanhood.

Nobody thinks trans rights are more important than cis women’s rights. Only TERFs and general transphobes say they believe that, so great job telling on yourself. To bigots, people they think are lesser having equal rights to them feels like those people are getting special treatment, and that means less rights for them. But that has no bearing on reality. Equality is what trans people actually want. To not be fired, denied housing, beaten or killed just for being who we are. But people like you don’t even want that for them. The rights of trans people don’t infringe upon anyone else’s rights, and that’s a fact.

Opening up women's spaces to predatory men who have no issye fonning women's clothes and a wig IS putting trans rights above women's rights. There's no way around it. Letting trans women in with no bar just opens the door to scum men too. Not the fault of trans women, but an unavoidable truth.
