I didn't mind her as a villain, but having Giselle be the only villain would've been cool
too.

It just felt a bit unfocused. Like they weren't sure what story they wanted to tell, or they didn't quite have enough courage to risk having Giselle be "bad" due to the wish gone awry. So they jammed in a secondary villain in there, so Giselle fans could have someone to boo and hiss at, if they weren't comfortable getting on board the Giselle as wicked stepmother train. It weakened it, iyswim.

Are you for real? From the context it's clearly about her playing parts in shows and movies that are unnecessary. Because that's what the secret is about - the character she played in a movie being unnecessary.

I don’t really like the idea of Giselle becoming a villain. Being a bad guy unintentionally and being horrified when she finds out what she’s been doing, that has some merit but I’m still not a fan. But I just think her being a straight up villain or wicked stepmother without being brainwashed into it is OOC for her.

But then, I just never liked anything I heard about this movie, even before it was released. It feels like the epitome of pointless nostalgia-bait sequels imo.
