This year has really treated us with great shows that are adaptations or prequels (or midquels). Which is probably why Willow being so bad hurt this much. I was really looking forward to it and I wanted to like it, but... Out of all the shows accused of being soulless cashcrabs, this one actually fits. It's just dumb all around, especially everything about Elora Danan, the poor girl deserved better. Even things I'd normally be excited about (diverse cast, main couple is queer) feel wasted on this show.

Yeah, I was excited to see Warwick Davis back but the show has not been grabbing me.

Poor Elora Danan, I'm not sure the show wants me to view it in that light despite it pretty much straight out of evil ruler playbook.
It's not even the keeping her away from magic part that bothers me the most. The biggest questionable decision is using Elora Danan's name to rule while Sorsha keeps her as a servant in her keep, not even adopted into a loving family or giving her any kind of real protection and connection to power? Meanwhile her son regularly used and dropped the maidservants and Sorsha pays so little attention she had no idea Elora Danan had gone until later.
