I resent the conversation around ownership in this age of streaming. My mother's basement is full of VHSs for which I cannot even purchase a player. Half of my old audio tapes are distorted from use and age. Multiple copies of video game CDs are lost or too scratched to reload on new computers, if they even have disk drives any more.

We're all of us just borrowing against time and I'm tired of pretending it used to be better.
